The update also includes fixes for the broken Appx PowerShell cmdlet functionality that affected PowerShell 7.1 and later. ![]() Microsoft had previously stated that they’re working on a fix and users are recommended to reinstall their apps if the apps are crashing in the meantime. It will be rolled out for stable users soon as well. The release notes say that the patch contains a fix for an issue that might prevent apps from opening after users update or repair them using the Microsoft Installer (MSI). Thankfully, a fix for the app crash issues is being rolled out to testers in the beta and preview channels as part of Windows 11 Build 22000.348 (KB5007262). The crashes are only experienced when you apply an update to the affected app or try to repair it using Windows Settings or Troubleshooter. The findings suggest that apps that are known to be affected include those from Kaspersky, along with some other apps. The app crashes have been found to be linked to Microsoft Installer (MSI) failures, according to Microsoft’s known issues page (via Windows Latest). ![]() Both were originally discovered in the November 2021 Patch and even affect the latest versions of Windows 10. ![]() One of them results in app crash issues while the other can even cause BSODs. Windows 11, as with every other major new release, has also brought along a couple of bugs.
